Save The Date vs Wedding Invitations

Save the date cards are sent approximately 4 to 6 MONTHS before the wedding; invitations are sent 6 to 8 WEEKS before the wedding. Big difference! Do not send save the date cards to guests unless you're positive he or she is on the wedding guest list

SAVE THE DATE

This pre-invitation officially announces your wedding date and lets guests know they will, in fact, be invited to the celebration.. If you ask me... I think it's a total waste of time and money... but that's just my opinion... and maybe 90% of the grooms out there!

WEDDING INVITATION

They both look the same to me.. only difference is.. the wedding invitation specifies the date, time and location... I would definitely just go with the invitation and maybe distribute them a little earlier than 6 to 8 weeks in advance.. maybe 10 to 12 weeks....

GOOD LUCK DECIDING!

  1. Some people opt to inform those very close to them especially those who will be part of the bridal party months before to ensure their availability. It would really suck if your best man can't attend due to another wedding obligation!
